V8 Utes shift into gear with new commercial partner Billet Products

Australian V8 Ute Racing has announced new commercial partner Billet Products as the official shifter of the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series. The after market shifter is ideal for a racing application, and will now be mandatory in all utes racing in the series from 2008 onwards.

“We’re really happy to be involved with the Series” explained Peter Gruber of Billet Products “the relationship adds integrity to our brand and our marketing with the ability to boast track tested products.”

From constructing manufacturing machines through to precision motorsport parts, Billet Products Australia draws on over 18 years of engineering experience and knowledge to deliver market leading products, excelling in both quality and performance.

Billet Products at its Melbourne based proudly houses the latest state of the art machinery, including CNC milling and turning centers, allowing production to remain entirely in house, from the design phase right through to the finished product, thus allowing unmatchable quality.

The Company is fast proving to be a market leader in performance aftermarket shifter products worldwide. With non stop research and development, the range is continually growing and expanding to new product areas.

“Customers can purchase with confidence knowing that each item has been developed through the rigours of racing and withstood the toughest of tests done through the V8 Ute Series.” Gruber explained.

V8 Ute Technical Manager Alan Pitt put both the VE and BF shifters through an intensive evaluation programme, before giving the Billet shifter the thumbs up and all clear for series eligibility. Former V8 Ute Champions Damien White and Warren Luff tested the units at Oran Park and Eastern Creek as part of the track evaluation for the new VE Holden.

The next V8 Ute round takes place at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin from July 4 – 6 with a full 32 car field lining up on the grid. Layton Crambrook currently leads the Series overall standings with 251 points, Kim Jane is close behind on 223 and Reigning Series Champion Grant Johnson rounds out the top three on 207 points.
